I'm Brian Watson and I'm glad you're here. I am a sculptor and letter carver from Bremerton, Washington, and I love sharing my work with people like you.
Since 1999, I have been creating sculptures and carvings in salvaged hardwoods from the Pacific Northwest. I craft all of my pieces to the highest quality, one-at-a-time. I take pride in making, with my own hands, sculptures and carvings that are breath-taking and which have a direct visceral and emotional effect.
In addition to creating pieces that reflect my personal vision, I also create commissioned pieces for individuals and institutions. I enjoy the creative collaboration that happens when I'm presented with another person's visual idea and help make it come to life.
My inspiration is the natural world: beaches, stream-sides, forests, mountains, and the waters of Puget Sound. All of the wood that I use is thanks to these elemental forces of the Pacific Northwest, and I try to honor the life of the trees when I make artwork from their bodies. I strive to create pieces of artwork that speak to that part in us that longs for belonging and wholeness.
